After Hector started an American candy business in Saudi Arabia at a young age, he knew that being an entrepreneur was something that he wanted to do. It wasn't until his senior year at the University of Denver where the idea of ProtoLocal came to life. The idea came to him at Kaladi's Coffee (located on E. Evans Ave.), while taking a break from an assignment. Without hesitation, he wrote it down and has been working on it ever since with his business partner, Jonny Havey. Why is it so hard to find small businesses around us? Why did it take Hector 2 years to learn about the small business community on Old South Pearl St. in Denver, which is not even two miles away from the University of Denver? And most importantly, why is there a lack of connection and relationship building within technology and small business community's? It is questions such as these that are leading the development of ProtoLocal.Technology driven, ProtoLocal is coming out with a web/mobile application interface that we believe will revolutionize the connection between small businesses and the communities around them. The application will only consist of small businesses and the entrepreneurs that are poring their heart and soul in growing their dream. What does that mean? No cooperation's will be able to be part of the mobile application. Not only is this interface exclusively for the "small guys", but we are producing professionally filmed videos of the entrepreneur(s) telling their story, the dream they are chasing, and why they decided to jump out of the box. With that in mind, not only will users of the ProtoLocal application be able to find all of the small businesses around them authentically, but they can choose where they want to go based on the "why" of the entrepreneur(s) and not just the "what". In essence, we are giving users the ability to start connecting and building the foundations of the personal relationship with the entrepreneur before stepping into a business.
