At Prudent Insurance we are on a mission to disrupt the life insurance industry by offering a highly customizable and comprehensive approach for high-net worth families. More than just "selling a policy", we offer asset protection and privacy planning, tax minimization, succession and retirement planning, trust & estate planning, charitable giving and philanthropic consulting and strategy. Four years ago, when Prudent Insurance was founded, its original focus was supporting our wealth management firm, Atlantic Wealth Partners. Today, however, it has become clear to that Prudent has a greater purpose to serve. The decision to build out Prudent as a full-fledged firm is the result of two catalysts.Significant changes are coming to tax legislation. It is likely that the high level for individual estate tax exemption that we're currently enjoying will be reduced to pre-2018 levels. To be specific, they plan to drop the individual estate tax exemption from $11.7 million ($23.4 for couples) down to the 2018 inflation-adjusted $5.49 million. Proposed legislation also plans to eliminate all creative estate tax minimization strategies that exist with trusts. There is also the potential that this exemption drops as low as $3.5 million depending on what legislation passes.The Insurance Industry fails to meet the needs of the affluent. Life insurance agents make huge commissions for little to no due diligence, work effort and frequently go to whomever is paying the highest compensation. People do not deserve suboptimal structure, overpriced or underperforming policies––especially within the ever-changing landscape of tax legislation. Prudent operates independently––without the control or influence of insurance companies, and free from external interference of our objectives. This autonomy gives our clients access to virtually any carrier in the market, as opposed to being tied to one or a limited number of carriers.
