WHAT:PRxPR – a RELIEF & REBUILD FUND – a private, non-partisan, no overhead fund, was purposefully created to help Puerto Rico in the aftermath of two deeply devastating and unprecedented hurricanes. Committed to investing 100% of donations amongst the most critically affected communities, the Fund's short and long-term humanitarian goals focus on food/agriculture, clean water and fuel/renewable energy initiatives.WHY:Within a period of two weeks, Puerto Rico was absolutely leveled by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, two of the worst storms ever recorded in the country's history. The country is devastated. The infrastructure is gone. Power was lost everywhere. 95% of wireless cell sites were destroyed. Much of the Island's water is undrinkable. 100 bridges were demolished while 65% of all roads are impassable. 80% of the crop value in PR was wiped out. Hospitals are still struggling with power issues. This humanitarian crisis is ongoing.
