Pseads ("seeds") is an educational nonprofit that takes a heart-centered, design-based approach to enabling organizations and individuals to locate, experience and utilize their most innate resources for growth, sustainability, joy, and creativity. Pseads was created with the mission to foster joy and an innate love for learning, integrate scientific and creative exploration, and engage brain and heart together for peace. This work was inspired by, and grew out of, two decades of study, work with more than 10,000 students as classroom educators, and a previous 10 years working at all levels of education, from kindergarten to medical school, juvenile detention centers to corporations.We create customized learning and leadership projects with students of all ages. Our programs and projects are focused on the links between perception and creativity, self-awareness and learning, and dignity and leadership. Current projects include The Blue Skies Bright Star Science and Poetry Program, STEM education initiatives, a leadership institute for first-year college students, learning laboratories for teachers, and collaboration with facilities and organizations looking to create the conditions for experiential learning, service-learning and community. Pseads programs and projects include reevaluating the metrics that matter in human systems, and developing novel assessment methodologies that cultivate continuous growth, lifelong learning and joy in re-vision, and multi-media components that utilize technology to tell new stories of human potential. This work includes book, film and audio projects intended to amplify courageous young voices offering visions for peace.
