De onderzoeksgroep Management & Bestuur (M&B) maakt deel uit van het departement politieke wetenschappen aan de Universiteit Antwerpen (faculteit sociale wetenschappen). Onze onderzoeksagenda focust op drie thema's: (a) 'publiek management en recht', waarin de interactie tussen recht en administratieve hervormingen centraal staat; (b) 'publiek management, informatie en prestaties', waarin we het gebruik van prestatie-informatie in besluitvorming en bestuur van overheden analyseren; (c) 'publiek management en governance', waarin de governance- en coördinatiestructuren van publieke taken in complexe multi-actor netwerken wordt onderzocht. De centrale en overkoepelende onderzoeksinteresse van onze onderzoeksgroep is hoe systemen van publiek management omgaan met veranderende, opeenvolgende en deels conflicterende (institutionele) logica's, die voortvloeien uit hun wettelijke en politieke omgeving, bredere hervormingsideeën, en steeds toenemende interacties met private stakeholders. The research group Public Administration and Management (PA&M) is a part of the Department of Political Sciences of the UAntwerp (Faculty of Social Sciences). Our agenda focusses on three themes: (a) public administration and law, which studies the interaction between public law and administrative reforms; (b) public administration, information and performance, which studies the use of performance information in decision making and management in public administration; (c) public administration and governance, which studies the governance and coordination of public tasks in complex multi-actor settings. The central research issue is how public administration systems cope with and integrate changing and partially conflicting (institutional) logics arising from their legal and political environment, administrative reform ideas, and expanding interactions with private stakeholders with diverse interests.
