Public Display Project is an upcoming dynamic publicly curated exhibition, that aims to educate the wider community about the current zeitgeist through people's personalized display. Public Display ('PD') is made up of a grid of 500mm x 500mm glass boxes atop plinths located outside Wellington's Te Papa Museum and aims to challenge Te Papa's ingrained exhibition practices. These boxes are designed to be small exhibition spaces, whereby any member of the community is able to rent, or is given, a box for a week/fortnight. The aim of this is to give people the capacity to share their personal belongings and educate viewers about what they believe holds significance. Our service approaches the museum format in a unique and non-traditional way.
