Puppetica Media dreams of bringing Indian tales to life in the most awe-inspiring animation. It all started as a passion to create the first full-length movie in Sanskrit featuring the timeless story of Punyakoti. Raising funds through crowdfunding, Punyakoti took shape and went on to become an enormous success bringing in the most awards an animation movie from India has ever won. The journey is now on to create more masterpieces.Puppetica is about to change the way animation storytelling is done in India. With globalization leveling the technology gaps, the time is ripe for taking Indian stories on to a global stage without losing their ethnicity. Puppetica plans to do this through two unique vehicles that it has developed through the last two decades of research.Satvik Story TellingSatvik comes from the Indian philosophy a balance between Rajas (Activity) and Tamas (Inertia). Satvik is the essential balance between activity and rest that makes success efficient and almost effortless. The philosophy does not advocate an excess of either too much activity or rest. Just as the Greek tragedies influenced storytelling in the West, storytelling in the East has been influenced by the deep philosophies of drama from India. Puppetica's storytelling aims at a balance in the narrative that just provides the right amount of drama. The stories have a 'circular' nature to them unlike the 'linear' fashion of storytelling of the West, where the concept of karma leading to further action and reaction cycles. All these are captured in the scripting of Punyakoti, Puppetica's first animation movie.Character Stylinghe character styling at Puppetica draws from the Indian traditional puppetry. The colors have deep significance and are inspired by the forms and movements of Indian art forms, especially - dance, music and drama of India as coded by 'Bharata Muni' whose insights on stage setting and character placement still plays an important role in Indian art forms.
