Welcome to Pure KaiZen!Created by a very energetic speech-language pathologist, Pure KaiZen's style of speech and language therapy is a fun and fresh alternative to the norm. At PKZ, we believe strongly in encouraging childhood, embracing differences, and celebrating successes of all sizes! Our methods combine physical, functional, and multi-sensory activities that stem from solid evidence showing the amazing link between movement, play, and learning, as well as the importance of supporting children's social-emotional development.Research shows that movement prepares children's brains for learning, regulates the body, increases positive feelings, and reduces hyperactivity. In addition to movement's positive effects on our health, it has proven positive effects on memory, learning and the brain in general. Our philosophy is that the body must be regulated and prepared so that optimal learning, socializing, and brain-functioning can occur and that movement, play, multi-sensory exploration, proper nutrition/hydration, and relief of modern stresses can have profound effects on growth and learning. While we may be surrounded by quick fixes, medications, and the expectation of immediate results, the Pure KaiZen philosophy emphasizes that positive, lasting growth happens as a result of continuous small improvements, time, and care. "KaiZen" means "good change" or "continuous growth" and is the idea that small steps taken with thoughtful work lead to big improvements. Although our emphasis is on speech, language, and communication skills, we believe in taking the time to work with families as a team to empower kids and their parents by helping to identify strengths, needs, and learning/processing styles. Our sessions are designed to provide lasting results that carry over into many aspects of life and our goal is for you and your child to leave each session feeling optimistic, confident, and empowered.
