The Scientista Foundation began at Harvard University in 2011 with two sisters, Julia and Christina Tartaglia, to address the lack of resources, community, and role models for college and university women in science and engineering. The launching of ScientistaFoundation.com, a platform and national network that addresses the needs of pre-professional women in STEMM, expanded the foundation to many college and university campuses within the United States.Queen's Scientista is the first Canadian chapter of the Scientista Foundation, aiming to provide resources, empowerment, and inspiration for women pursuing science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) at Queen's University. With an ever-growing team of powerful members, we hope to bring the dream of the original Scientista founders to life.
