The type of work at Queloz & Ass. is mainly based on the machining of average size, multiple form parts., using materials varying from aluminium to inconel, and whose tolerance is as precise as .0001" in diameter, .0002" in length and .0002" in flatness and concentricity. Many of the parts are in hardened steel or hard chrome steel requiring a finish (grind and lap)of up to 4 micron. Parts for our customers in the aircraft field and for commercial customers generally require the same precision. However, for our commercial clientele we often insure both the manufacture and final assembly of units, a few examples of which you will see on the centre page of the enclosed pamphlet. Another branch of our production involves the manufacture of various types of hardened steel or carbon steel knives, as well as the making of moulds and dies. Queloz have all the necessary instruments to properly measure the parts we manufacture, and the method currently employedis a CMM machine, and Laser Scan Micrometer. We currently have 39 employees: Office (4) Inspection (3) Deburring (2) and direct production (30). We work on two shifts, for a monthly average of 4100 production hours. Our new plant (March 1991) have 16000 sq. ft and is 100% air conditioned, our inspection department is carried out in a controlled atmosphere, with improved lighting and the overall exceptional environment. The quality control standard that we currently use is AQAP-4, but we are getting ready to use standard ISO-9002 with a statistical control of the process. (AQS, Advanced Quality System Procedure).
