Farming - Encinitas, California, United States
Raymond Eugene Badger established R. E. Badger & Son in 1922. He started farming on his own property in Rancho Santa Fe and then began helping his neighbors manage their farms. His son, Chuck Sr., began running the company in the 1960s and grandson Chuck Jr. took over with the beginning of the new millenium. Now, the fourth generation of Badgers, Chuck III, is running the new WormGold production and distribution department. R.E. Badger & Son currently manages over four hundred acres of citrus and cut flowers in San Diego North County, and farms both organically and conventionally. The Badger family is the only San Diego County farming family to have three members serve stints as the San Diego County Farm Bureau president--Raymond (1936), Chuck Sr. (1986-88), and Chuck Jr. (2007-09).
