Radiation Oncology Services, a leader in radiation therapy in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 1975, partnered with Piedmont Healthcare and WellStar Health System in 2014 to strengthen our collective mission of combining state-of-the-art technology with compassionate cancer care in a community-based setting. Our combined initiatives provide the top-notch cancer treatment required to care for the complex needs of our patients and their families. Through our hospital partnerships, patients can receive radiation therapy at six centers in the greater metropolitan Atlanta area.ROS is commitment to the cutting-edge by equipping our centers with state-of-the-art linear accelerators and computerized treatment planning systems. While technology is important to quality radiation therapy, we also recognize that our well-trained staff provides the critical link between advanced technology and compassionate cancer care.Our board-certified Radiation Oncologists participate in a weekly Evidence Based Peer Review conference, which provides a forum for physician discussion and consensus. The treating physician presents new cases to our physician group for input and approval of the treatment plan. Through this collaborative effort, our patients receive treatment consistent with national standards and guidelines. The Joint Commission (JC) sets the standard for quality in healthcare for both hospitals and outpatient facilities. In 1995, we voluntarily sought a challenging and comprehensive evaluation by the JC. Since 1995, ROS has maintained JC accreditation by undergoing a rigorous review every three years. ROS consistently demonstrates its commitment to quality and safety through compliance with the guidelines set forth by the JC. ROS partnered with Press Ganey, a national leader in performance improvement, to build on our long-standing commitment to patient satisfaction. For three straight years, ROS is recipient of the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award.
