The Radical Middle Way (RMW) is a British Muslim initiative that articulates relevant and dynamic understanding of Islam that encourages and inspires positive change, civic engagement and social justice for all. Radical Middle Way's mandate is to promote mercy, public service and civic participation as emblematic Islamic values and, since 2005, it has organised over 200 programmes across the United Kingdom with a national network of partners attracting tens of thousands of participants – Muslims, people of other faiths and people of no faith alike. From urban music stages to lively debates on "hot-button" issues to innovative physical education workshops to a dynamic web-presence, RMW's innovative programmes have sought to fight fear and ignorance through faith and participation. RMW's international work seeks to build a "global alliance of the middle way" and has organised major outreach programmes in Sudan, Pakistan, Mali and Indonesia attracting over 100,000 participants. RMW has worked closely with civil society organisations, NGOs and government departments to deliver joint policy solutions aimed at empowering young people and addressing their vulnerabilities.
