Native Texans, Amanda and Emmy Daum started RAE Jewelry as a way to combine their passions for design, adventure, and culture. Since they were young, the two sisters have felt an incurable impulse to explore the unknown. This was likely an attempt to solve the mysteries of the world after losing their mother at ages seven and nine. From then on, they understood the finiteness of life, thus translating into a deeply rooted drive to chase their dreams. Their passions inevitably culminated into the fateful RAE brand- a product that has evolved out of a life long vision. RAE, Amanda's middle name, which was given to her by her mother, represents the brand's feminine strengths and enlightening notions of fearlessness and adventure.Each piece is uniquely crafted to symbolize a place they have traveled, making it multi-dimensional in both form and meaning. In order to maintain such authenticity, RAE Jewelry is hand-made in Brooklyn, using methods of lost wax carving and metalsmithing. They further elevate the integrity of each piece by adhering to strict standards of sustainability and use only ethically sourced semi-precious stones and recycled metals.This fine attention to detail enables the Daum sisters to preserve an abstract quality through subtle imperfections and organic manipulations. The goal is for each piece to remain subjective to the wearer's interpretation.
