• Spent 5 months (05/08-10/08) living and working in Kisumu, Kenya at as part of the senior staff and institutional founding team. • Worked with individuals and groups throughout the community on financial inclusion and education to improve access to credit, homeownership and entrepreneurship. Developed microfinance programs, such as: micro credit, micro insurance, social development, micro enterprise development, remittances, micro warehousing. • Solicited large scale contributions ($5,000-$250,000) via written grants/proposals, phone calls and in-person meetings. • Personally devised and started a program of value chain based networking to facilitate rural-urban micro enterprise linkages. Including the implementation of a PVCA feasibility study to collect and analyze data used to model market place dynamics along the value chain proposition of rural to urban small and micro enterprises. • Started and managed a large database of survey and financial information using Excel and FileMaker Pro. Used data to make recommendations and inform social and economic metrics regarding institutional performance.
