Rainbow Advocacy (formerly Metropolitan Community Charities) is a LGBTQ Civil Rights, Social Action and Advocacy 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is to support LGBTQ community-building, economic and health-related initiatives and programs, with local, national and global reach.To inspire informed empathy and compassionate action.To nurture leadership by everyday people, community organizations, and others.To develop and sustain a network of institutions, organizations, working groups, and individuals sharing common commitments to the global LGBTQ community.To provide a forum that is accessible, inclusive, participatory and collaborative in building compassionate communities.To identify key projects to support by various means.To model the values and principles of the Charter of Compassion.To support generosity, responsibility and accountability without regard to race/ethnicity, socio-economics, education, age, gender, or sexual orientation.To communicate honestly and directly, listen deeply with open hearts, uphold the dignity of all, and watch patiently for opportunities to connect.
