Rangiroa is the largest atoll in the South Pacific. Located in the French Polynesian Islands along with better known islands such as Tahiti and Bora Bora, Rangiroa is quite possibly the best location for scuba diving out of them all. Famous for it's abundance of sharks, Rangiroa has a dive site called Tiputa Pass which is quite often home to several hundred sharks of various species. Shark species found in Rangiroa include gray reef sharks, black tips, white fins, nurse sharks, tiger sharks, great hammerheads, whale sharks, leopard sharks and a few others. There is also a large assortment of rays which can be found when scuba diving in Rangiroa. Also of interest to scuba divers in French Polynesia and Rangiroa in particular is the group of sedentary dolphins which call the area home. This groups comfort level with humans means we have some fantastic encounters with this beautiful mammal. RangiroaPlongee was started in 2008 by Rene Fels who remains at the helm today. Happy to be living the dream on a tropical island, scuba diving in one of the best locations on earth.
