As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, caregivers with young children are experiencing many challenges and changes in their circumstances. Food insecurity, uncertainty in employment, loss of or changes to childcare and social supports can impact caregiver mental health and well-being, which can directly impact child well-being and have lasting effects on a child's ability to grow and thrive.RAPID-EC (Rapid Assessment of Pandemic Impact on Development-Early Childhood) is a twice-monthly survey of families with children ages 0-5. The goals of the survey are to provide timely and actionable data to stakeholders (policymakers, practitioners, advocates, researchers) to inform immediate and long-term policy decisions, and to facilitate the design of the most necessary and effective programs to support children and families.
