An independent, value-investing blog on the Australian stock market. Without a doubt, investing in any stock market in the world is far from easy, especially in the turbulent market of Australia, which is closely intertwined with those of other major powers such as China and the United States. In order to make sense of the volatile Australian share market, this blog was established as a guide: an online portal for investors with an open-mind and a desire to both learn and earn. Every week brings with it a new blog post, discussing a myriad of different forces at play in the stock market, whether it be the economy, the financial markets, broad sectors or individual equities in either Australia or the rest of the world. Ultimately, everything discussed is relevant to Australian investors. Occasionally, specific stocks are reviewed and either recommended or dissuaded from investors. The investment philosophy of Rational Investing is predominantly value-oriented in that we attempt to asses the intrinsic worth of a stock and will invest only if there is a viable margin of safety between the current share price and its intrinsic value.
