Education Management - Dübendorf, Zurich, Switzerland
In November 2019, ETH Zurich announced that, after forty years, it was looking for a successor for the training facility at the IVT, which is known far beyond professional circles. The contract as the future operator of the facility was awarded to the newly founded association "Eisenbahnbetriebslabor Schweiz" around the initiators Markus Vollack, Marc Pingoud and Heinrich Brändli. We took over the facility on the Hönggerberg at the end of January 2021. We will partially modernise and dismantle the facility at its current site and transport it to the new, central location in Dübendorf in June 2021.Our declared goal is to have the layout back in operation at the new location in October 2021. From then on, the railway laboratory will be available to you for a set of different purposes:- Getting to know the interactions within the railway system- Basic training for apprentices and beginners- Challenging further training for professionals in the Swiss railway industry- Experience in the driver's cabs underway on the railway laboratory layout- Research and simulation for the further development of technology and processes. We will keep you informed about the development and our progress and look forward to welcoming you as our guests and customers in the new "Railway Operations Laboratory Switzerland" (ebl) from autumn 2021 onwards.
