In Jan. of 2016, Ray Ward established an LLC entity – which today is DBE/ MBE certified in the States of Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. This is a new start-up business unit led by a young entrepreneur and supported by senior leadership, who saw the need for a better quality minority business model. One that is truly committed to excellence in performance, integrity and ethics in growing a strong general contracting experience. One who can truly be a valued contributor and partner on projects with MBE participation, and facilitate a more successful project outcome for all involved parties. Ray is a VCU IDES (Interior Design/ Architecture) graduate. RAW ID has a strong background and blend of business development, graphic design, preconstruction services, project engineering, job setup, project management, cost accounting, project close-out and commissioning . This gives RAW ID's team members a well-rounded approach to understanding conceptual and planning stages, value-engineering efforts, as well as the technical execution of delivering a more efficient and successful construction solutions. It's members have a proven track record of successfully delivering on Civil/ Government, Industrial, Healthcare, Private and Public Sector Projects - both ground up new construction and renovations to existing facilities. We believe our 'sweet -spot' are projects ranging from $250k to $10M. Over the years, we recognize that there is an inevitable 'changing of the guards' that occurs in all organizations that serve the communities where we work, live and play. You can resist the change or embrace it but the change is inevitable. That said, one of the reasons behind the creation of RAW ID, LLC is the unique business opportunities that exists for a customer-focused and performance-driven minority owned general contractor and design-build firm to emerge in Richmond, VA.
