REACH is a mentoring program for teens and young adults in and out of foster care in CA. Our goal is for every mentee to thrive in high school & college.REACH is designed to create equal opportunities in education for children in foster care in order to break the cycle of homelessness and increase graduation rates by creating peer leaders. Resulting in stable, strong supports for youth that create positive outcomes.REACH gives former foster youth the opportunity to learn Independent skills, professionalism, and how to go to college through the proposed REACH program that may be implemented in a non-profit or school sector. After youth successfully complete the REACH initiative program, they are then promoted to serve as a peer mentor for other foster youth. Generous stipends will supply as an incentive for the youth to consider REACH a committed endeavor. This will ensure staff that youth will regularly attend all sessions, trainings, and workshops in order to run successfully. Staff also work with children and families to identify all relationships they want to preserve, removing all barriers to the preservation of those relationships, and bringing identified people into systems and roles of care. This program creates more stable, stronger supports for children, and will be scientifically measured to show significant positive outcomes.Mission
