Individual & Family Services - Tucson, Arizona, United States
At the Reading Therapy Center, we remove the barriers that hinder learning for children with disabilities by assembling an interdisciplinary team of specialists who provide an integrated whole-child intervention approach that leads to faster and more significant academic achievement, regardless of the disability or its severity. Our mission is to build clinics for children with disabilities at which they receive comprehensive interdisciplinary services and intensively scaffolded academic interventions. Our vision: We are creating a world in which every child with disabilities can overcome the barriers that are preventing them from reaching their academic potential. To fulfill this vision, our Centers maintain three objectives: Objective #1: We provide intensively scaffolded interventions in reading, writing, and math that allow each child to reach grade-level quickly. Objective #2: We provide additional services in the areas of speech-language, occupational therapy, behavior therapy, and social thinking to hasten the academic advancement of each child. Objective #3: For each child, we assemble an integrated team of interdisciplinary specialists who will remove the child's learning barriers. We then coordinate frequent interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure a seamless advancement of the child's academic abilities. The Reading Therapy Center was launched in 2018 to address the needs of K-12 children with disabilities. The founder recognized that there were multiple disconnects in education that severely impeded the growth of children with disabilities.
