Matthew Carter is a sustainability expert and Sabrina Carter is a communications expert, both are experienced educators. They have lived and worked in Brighton and and Hove, Sussex for most of their adult lives. They want to empower local SMEs to thrive through embracing and communicating behaviour that contributes to sustainable development.Working independently, they have secured several clients seeking advice on implementing and communicating sustainability strategies. They have also discovered that sustainability is a ‘slippery' and often misunderstood concept. Thus, the logical next step for them is to combine their talents and offer a package to organisations seeking help with these aspects of sustainability. Therefore, they plan to offer a package of services based on:• Sustainability strategy advice • Communications strategy advice • Training on the meaning of ‘sustainability' Firstly, we will help SMEs to identify their material sustainability topics, write sustainability policies, and integrate sustainability into their business models through management systems. Secondly, we will offer ‘Sustainability Compass' workshops designed to endow businesses with a deep understanding of the concept of sustainability through systems thinking. Thirdly, we assist them with devising strategies to communicate their sustainability efforts internally and externally. We will also offer design of microsites describing their sustainability performance. This will be offered in partnership with Reasonably Good Design Workshop. This will enable SMEs to implement impactful sustainability measures and reap resulting reputational rewards.
