Recreate India Research Foundation (Re:CREATe) is an award-winning research and advocacy enterprise that seeks to catalyze and advance the remanufacturing industry in India. It's core activities include 1) industry, market and policy research, 2) education & training, 3) industry, market and policy advocacy and 4) technology research & transfer, based on a foundation of national and international collaboration. There is growing awareness of the need for environmental stewardship and social inclusion, which are being recognized as critical and positive catalysts to sustainable development and nation building. This is evidenced by the chorus of voices espousing the need to transition to a Resource Efficient and Circular Economy. This is where Remanufacturing (or Reman) comes in to the picture, described by the European Remanufacturing Council as the "backbone of the Circular Economy".As defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), "Remanufacturing is a comprehensive and rigorous industrial process by which a previously sold, leased, used, worn, or non-functional product or part is returned to a "like-new" or "better-than-new" condition, from both a quality and performance perspective, through a controlled, reproducible and sustainable process." Remanufacturing is not synonymous with recycling, reconditioning, refurbishing, reusing or repairing.Twitter: twitter.com/recreateirf
