It all starts with customer service, and this comes in many different ways. Being a subject matter expert when it comes to market trends, pay changes, corporate needs, but also understanding what it is like on the other side of the table. I fortunately have had the liberty of getting my hands dirty on both ends. Have I been unemployed? Sure. Have I made offers to candidates that I thought were great, with a company that I thought was the best thing since pants with pockets? Absolutely.But...sometimes, things just aren't right. Through experience, many successes and many misses, I have been able to take a step back and put emotions to the side. Sometimes organizations don't understand that when they are interviewing candidates; the hiring managers, interviewing teams, and company culture is also being interviewed by the candidate.
