One of the great things about life is that you rarely know ahead of time what will inspire your first or next adventure. A Red Beard's we have traced our adventures back to various unsuspecting experiences.A stranger's story, from a chance encounter on the Appalachian Trail, in North Carolina, led to an attempted thru hike 14 years later. A friendship that started during that trip led to a thru hike of the Long Trail. During that hike, a random side trip, to the stone hut on Mount Mansfield, introduced me to my future wife.Photographs of Wonder Lake and Mount McKinley, combined with books by Jack London and the movie "Into the Wild" led to a summer adventure at Denali National Park. That summer led to many other adventures, including the opening of Red Beard's Outfitter.We would love to hear what inspires your adventures!
