The Red Belly Blockchain has been developed by researchers of the Concurrent Systems Research Group at the University of Sydney and Data61, CSIRO. The expertise of the Concurrent Systems Research Group is the theory and practice of distributed computing. Using this expertise, the team discovered the solutions to problems preventing the widespread adoption of Blockchain by enterprise.The outcome of this research is a community blockchain that is highly secure, and offers transaction performance that scales with the number of participants. A recently discovered accountability technique is being integrated for proposing a new public blockchain solution (July 2019 deployment).
