College Student trying to Encourage Healthy Sleep Habits and Personal Development. Read Reading Lights & Content! My life changed for the better when I decided to focus on my sleep habits and how to improve my sleep quality as well as figure out how to fit sleep into my schedule that varies day to day and week to week. I have always been interested in sleep science and I have seen many health professional's you find will give common guidelines, such as you need 6-8 hours of sleep a night, but not much else. Not many people were talking about sleep quality and how to optimize your sleep, not to cheat how much sleep you need, but to make small changes that will have large positive impact. There are many reasons why a person may not be getting good quality sleep, but I know for me personally there is a struggle against my natural- 20's biological clock and many "distractions" important and un-important that used to prevent me from even sleeping well, leaving me feeling tired for a majority of the day. One quick google search and you can find many studies and articles on the harmful effects of blue night on the production of Melatonin and general sleep quality. I wanted to dig deeper into this issue and make a product that not only eliminate blue light from your before bed routine, but actually promote sleep, making you able to fall asleep faster, relax and also encourages reading. With the Red Reading Light; I can incorporate daily reading (which I recommend to anyone who wants to grow and progress) with the added befits of better quality sleep and falling asleep physically faster. I decided to make the reading light re-chargeable so it can be easily recharged with a USB, making it convenient for at home or travel. The red light also does not disturb a partner in the same bed, has 4 adjustable levels and is in itself a bookmark with its flexible housing.
