Aviation & Aerospace - Mukilteo, Washington, United States
The Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club (RTH) is chartered by the Black Pilots of America (BPA), Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. RTH operates four distinct programs: two one-day aviation camps, a two-week flight training academy, and a year-around youth program. The RTH Youth Program offers a unique learning environment, providing a year-around aviation experience, including summer flying days where children get the chance to take control and fly a light aircraft. The vision is Legacy Lift, Future Thrust… The mission is to introduce underserved and underrepresented youths to the world of aviation while engaging their minds in practical applications of STEM and grounding them in aviation history."Legacy Lift, Future Thrust..." is the vision of the Red-Tailed Hawks. One of the first things we teach our youth is how the forces of lift, thrust, weigh and drag act on an airplane. In order to fly, lift must over come weight and thrust must overcome drag. Our opportunity to succeed is elevated by those that have come before us and we propel ourselves on a flight path towards greater accomplishments. As such, every meeting agenda has an aviation history component and a pilot knowledge component. We use aviation to promote science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).This website shares the Red-Tailed Hawks Flying Club experiences in hopes of inspiring young minds and gaining public support of our mission as well as financial support of our Youth Program.Board Members:President - Jesse Hayes IVVice President - Sherman RobinsonChief Pilot - Jason SimsTreasurer - Scott Callahan Jr.
