The Red Wall Gallery was established by Claire Field in 2002 within the Republic Bar and Cafe in Hobart, Tasmania. The gallery presented regular art exhibitions up until 2011, operating primarily as a launch-pad for emerging artists to present work directly to the community outside of a white cube environment. Claire Field curated and managed Red Wall Gallery from 2002 - 2006. Local artist Jamin produced graphic design and promotional material with artist Blair Hunter assisting with installation. Astrid Joyce took over the curatorial/manager position from 2007 -2008.
