5G promises to support a broad and varied number of end-user service offerings in multiple vertical markets. These varied services are imperative to create a positive business case for the enormous investment in 5G mobile networks. Network slicing, the ability to create multiple logical networks on a shared infrastructure, is regarded as the key enabler to cost-effectively realize these end-user service offerings.Orchestration of 5G network slicing is challenging as it requires an automated process that creates and maintains this large variety of end-user services on a combination of many different resources, such as RAN, Core Network and Transport Network, while using a variety of technologies such as SDN, NFV, virtualizing technologies and edge-computing.Redefined Networks has developed this automated process by leveraging a uniquely developed Universal Network Model and Network Slice Orchestration method to provide Service Providers with vendor-independent, technology-independent and future-proof operations of the sliced 5G network as well as other network types than 5G.
