Our mission is to promote community wealth-building in the City of Reading by designing and implementing economic development initiatives in an ongoing working partnership with city development agencies. The CDC will focus on opportunities for collaboration with city development agencies that: -Promote economic, community and civic development in the City of Reading that fosters resiliency and sustainability in the local economy -Foster the improvement of the City through a comprehensive "people-and-place-based" process of revitalization that seeks to protect, enhance and promote urban living and the community heritage of its neighborhoods -Promote the commercial and residential growth and development of the City of Reading -Study and plan for more effective public services, including but not limited to water, parking, and housing services -Facilitate community problem-solving and encourage informed engagement in issues affecting the well-being of the City's residents
