Redmond Citizen Corps was founded in 1995 as the Greater Redmond Emergency Preparedness Committee to provide leadership and guidance for community emergency/disaster preparedness and recovery. Since then, a lot has changed but not our focus on making Redmond a strong, resilient place to live and work.The CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue and disaster medical operations. For more information about the Redmond CERT program, visit https://redmondcert.org/The ARES Team consists of amateur radio enthusiasts who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty when disaster strikes.To find out more about Redmond ARES, visit https://redmond-ares.org/.The Redmond Medical Reserve Corps supports the Redmond Office of Emergency Management and King County Public Health Reserve Corps by being ready to provide immediate health-related care in the event of a regional disaster, developing neighborhood resiliency sites, engaging the community in public-health related activities, and fostering public-health education.
