Nonprofit Organization Management - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The Refugee Support Network is a group of multilingual students in Ontario, who help newly arrived refugees integrate into their new environment and find a new home in Canada. Both government-and private-sponsored refugees face many difficulties after arriving in Canada. Sponsors, despite their best efforts, often face a shortage of time and money, and must overcome difficult linguistic and cultural barriers. Government support faces limitations in terms of duration and quantity, and is not enough to deal with issues that require personal support. Refugees are therefore often on their own to seek jobs, find homes, find doctors and even learn the language. This is where RSN's team comes in. The RSN students, often of similar backgrounds to the refugees, act as a bridge between them and their new home, and support them with their daily life. Thanks to them, we have managed to support dozens of newly arriving refugee families find a better home in Canada. The many young volunteers of RSN come from a variety of countries, professional and educational backgrounds, faiths, genders and ages, and speak numerous languages, including Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Dari, Farsi, French, Kurdish, Pashto, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu.Follow us at: https://www.facebook.com/refugees.canada/
