We lead the development and delivery of Regeneration and Sustainable Communities Programmes. Working through, and with, the various parties and agencies (public, private and voluntary sectors), we ensure that the social, economic, environmental and physical infrastructure needed to enable the provision of homes and jobs are identified, planned for and delivered. We get involved in nearly everything which is necessary to ensure that a truly sustainable community is planned for and delivered. This includes transport; water supply and waste water treatment; drainage and flooding issues; energy and heat supply; schools; health facilities; cultural, sports and leisure facilities; community halls; parks, open spaces and the public realm; education and training facilities; work-spaces; telecommunications infrastructure ect. A lot of this is delivered by ‘partners', so much of my work is acting as a strange combination of ‘glue' and ‘oil' to get them all working together, ensuring that they are prioritizing their actions for the area we are working on; unblocking blockages and doing the forward-thinking when people aren't ready to do it themselves.
