The "Reindeer People' is a travel documentary film about a personal journey that two undertake by walking/cycling 5200 km (approx 1500 walking hours) from India to Mongolia without any support team. At the heart of this film are the Reindeer Tribes in the Northern Mongolia, that inspired them to undertake this journey. This is the closely knit Tsaatan community found in the Khövsgöl Province of Mongolia. They are herders who wish to sustain their way of life and protect their resources. Hailing from "The land of blue sky" they are possibly the toughest individuals alive on Earth for whom staying warm as a close knit tribe even at temperatures as low as - 55°Celsius at night is a way of life. The Tsaatan tribes have hosted a lot of travelers from all around the world. Their hospitality, camaraderie and compassion for travelers is legendary. We intend to live, learn and capture the lives of these "Reindeer Tribes" as they prepare for another harsh winter. The two of us will remain in Mongolia with the Tribes until the end of winter, May 2016. We hope to re - instill kindness, compassion, honesty, simplicity, equality, respect and harmony in this vast ocean called humanity through this journey of ours. The film showcases these highly underrated values that are found in abundance in the harshest, most unforgiving of environments. Ambition - We aim to make this a travel documentary feature film. "Reindeer People" embody the spirit "harsher the winter the more beautiful the cherry blossoms".
