Reis Aragão Advogados was founded in 2017. Having practiced criminal defense law for more than 10 years in the main firms in the area, Renato Reis Aragão, decided to found the firm aiming to provide high standard services in criminal law, compliance and internal investigations. Over the past decade, the dynamic has significantly shifted in the legal sphere with an increased number of laws and regulations concerning the general economic activity as well as the changes in the compliance and anti-money laundry practices and corruption. This movement imposed the application of Criminal Law to new events, including some of great economic and social repercussion. It also made necessary to create deeper relations between criminal law and other areas of Law. To be in accordance with this new and extremely complex scenario, the practice of high standard criminal defense law requires the use of theories and international legislation studies in order to keep up with the ever-changing Brazilian Judicial System. One of the distinctive services our firm offers is the integration between Criminal Corporate Law with the Compliance Area in internal investigations, and production and identification of evidence in cases of corruption, fraud and other crimes, providing improvement in internal policies and defining legal strategies as well as possible collaboration with public authorities.
