Founded in Ann Arbor, Michigan, ReliveTheBAR (RTB) is dedicated to strengthening relations between alumni through live experiences and the celebration of Black culture. What started as a homecoming gathering for young Black alumni at the University of Michigan has expanded to include a dedication to support undergraduate students as well our community at large. In our early years, we focused on our staple event, The Black Alumni Reunion (The BAR) which took place during homecoming. The BAR was a highly anticipated weekend that consisted of sold out events and apparel focusing on Black pride. Our clothing quickly grew popular as alumni across the country eagerly expressed their desire to show not only their school spirit, but love for their heritage as well. Whether you were a graduating high school senior soon to begin your lifelong dream of becoming Black Wolverine, or an alumnae of 25 years who was proud to be Black As Hail, ReliveTheBAR offered a community that you could call home.In 2017, we launched the Black Wolverine Book Fund to provide book scholarships and alumni mentorship to undergraduate students at the University of Michigan. Using funds from our apparel, events, and through the amazing support of alumni, over 300 textbooks have been provided to students on campus. In addition to hundreds of book scholarships, we have funded student organizations, university department programming, and young entrepreneurs within our alumni base. Today, ReliveTheBAR's efforts reach across the country. We are able to fuel our initiatives through apparel that represents the unapologetic pride in our culture. We appreciate every purchase as it helps to advance our mission of connecting alumni through a common interest of support of students and community.
