The focus industry is that in which encompasses health care, targeting the areas of which waste is created along the supply chain; medical and health related product manufacturer, importer, distributor, and corporate/ government consumer (hospitals), health care workers and policy makers. With a ‘REduce, REuse, REcycle' philosophy REmed aims to target waste reduction through encouraging improved waste segregation and effective product stewardship schemes. Collaborating with manufacturers, warehouses and distributors and providing initiatives for improved waste reduction and recycling and empowering consumers and product users to comply with environmental policies and manufacturer environmental standards at the end of life cycle. The remaining items are donated to appropriate organisations. REmed sources appropriate beneficiaries for the reclaimed medical supplies aligning with the World Health Organisations guidelines to in-kind donations. We supply volunteer health professionals with medical supplies to take on international placements, enabling them to return to our hospitals having gained maximum learning experience in developing countries. Providing the supplies required to more effectively train and educate fellow health care professionals and promote better infection control procedures in facilities. All donated items are in date with the exception of some supplies now being donated for training/educational purposes.
