Rent-O-Recycled Water (Rent-O-ReWa) aims to reduce pressure on freshwater sources and decrease consumption of potable water in urban landscapes of India by addressing proper sewage water disposal, efficientfreshwater pumping energy & cost, and price regulations in the Water Sector. The objective is to disrupt and create an enabling environment that brings in change in end consumer behaviour and establish market linkages in orderto mitigate dependency on fresh water sources. This intervention will have cascading impact in terms of reducing stress on freshwater sources, reduced contamination of fresh water sources, organizing the unregulated watermarket and ensuring adequate water during non-monsoon months. In the long run, we anticipate that reducing the dependency on freshwater use through promoting the use of treated wastewater, we will increase the awareness of the society at large towards conserving water and tackle water scarcity.
