Renzo Isabella is a lawyer practising in the areas of business law and tax law. His practice is restricted to corporate/commercial work and related tax planning. Renzo Isabella has experience advising domestic and international companies on tax-efficient strategies for setting up operations in Canada, and has assisted clients in dealings with the Canada Revenue Agency and the provincial tax authorities on tax audit and tax dispute resolution matters. Renzo Isabella was previously employed in the Tax Legislation Division of Canada's Department of Finance from 2007 to 2010. During that time he developed policy and wrote legislation on a number of high-priority files, such as the 5th protocol to the Canada-U.S. Tax Treaty, signed in 2007. Renzo developed much of the policy and legislation related to the corporate organization of income trusts. He was also a key figure in the development of policy related to the taxation of financial institutions, particularly during the height of the financial sector crisis in Canada in 2008-2009. Renzo Isabella also recently worked at a major accounting firm in Toronto. Renzo obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario bar in 2007. He graduated from the Schulich School of Business, York University with an undergraduate business degree with specializations in finance and economics.
