Meditation saved my life. It's the only thing that kept me from killing myself after my attempted murder & abduction in 2009. At that time, I thought my sadness & struggle would last forever. Day by day, I used meditation to create the space I needed to separate myself from my trauma & begin transforming it into something powerful. I used meditation to face my darkest days & loneliest nights on the long road to recovery. It worked - still does, in fact.My name is Christina Stoltz & I am the founder of REQ.1, a US-based non-profit organization born from my direct service work w/ survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence & human trafficking in the US, Russia & throughout Central Asia. I have helped over 3,000 women, children, sex workers, indentured servants & displaced persons on 3 continents use meditation, movement & art to heal from trauma. Together, we developed the practical coping mechanisms you need to alleviate the daily challenges that chronic stress & depression can bring & to overcome the emotional pitfalls that panic attacks, night terrors & acute fear can cause. The REQ.1 Meditation Certification is a globally accredited training that has been tested & implemented for over 10 years in prisons, crisis centers & transitional housing facilities around the world. This curriculum was designed in collaboration w/ leading trauma-informed care providers, governmental agencies & research institutions across the globe to give you actionable, achievable steps to overcome your anxiety in 66 days & teach others how.I have been on both sides of the issue (as a care provider and crisis client) & intimately understand the nuanced complexity, emotional infrastructure & social stigma of trauma care, management & recovery. Every day, I use the tools taught in this training to tackle my trauma head-on - to quiet my mind & calm my body.The road to recovery is long & hard but wildly worth it.
