Founded in 2010, the South American Network for Environmental Migrations – RESAMA is an independent network of experts, researchers and practitioners working for the visibility, recognition and protection of people displaced and at risk in the context of disasters and climate change. Through research, capacity building and advocacy, RESAMA has been working to include the topic of environmental migration in public agendas in the region integrating climate change, disasters, migration laws/policies/agendas with a human rights approach. Current project: Observatory on Human Mobility, Disasters and Climate Change (MOVE-LAM) developed in partnership with University for Peace based in Costa Rica.
