Centerbridge Capital Partners L.P. ("Centerbridge") formed Resort Finance America, LLC and affiliates ("RFA") in connection with the acquisition of $1 billion+ of timeshare related loans from GMAC Commercial Finance in September 2010. In addition to asset management of the GMAC portfolio, RFA seeks to make new debt and equity investments across the timeshare industry.RFA is focused on growing its presence in the shared ownership industry through two main strategic objectives. The first is to continue to acquire new timeshare loan portfolios, resort real estate debt, and invest in new equity partnerships that meet its acquisition criteria. RFA has operating partnerships with several of the industry's leading operators on a fee-for-service or joint venture basis to provide marketing and sales, on-site operations, and HOA management services. RFA and its affiliates currently own resorts in Las Vegas and Park City with significant debt investments in consumer receivables and inventory throughout the industry. The second main strategic objective is to expand into a distinct specialty finance company to provide direct to the consumer, developer hypothecation, and, as appropriate, acquisition, development, and construction financing facilities to support investments by RFA.
