Research - Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France
The new RESTORE research center takes a multidisciplinary approach to the study of tissue homeostasis in adults, their aging (normal and/or pathological) and possible rejuvenation strategies. The originality of the laboratory is the way of thinking a transdisciplinary and multicultural science (beyond biology alone). The development of original models common to the RESTORE teams and the unique collection of data for a global, multi-scale and inter-organ analysis is a guarantee of synergy and innovation. The participation of partner teams from fields other than biology (mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science) allows a true transversal research. The study of major physiopathological determinants such as metabolism, inflammation and stroma in a global approach of gerosciences allows both the exploration of the fundamental mechanisms of age-related loss of function and a significant translational activity aimed at restoring this loss of function in the fields of pharmacology, regenerative medicine and "rejuvenation". Rapid application is favored through close links with clinical services and valorization platforms.
