Waste/Recycling/Environmental - Oakland, NJ, US
Restore Native Plants is an environmental nonprofit based out of Ramapo Mountain State Forest focused on restoring the natural heritage of the NJ Highlands. Our work is important because many of our native wildlife species are in trouble - especially those that are endangered and threatened. As invasive plants spread throughout our environment, they devastate food sources and habitat for our wildlife. That's where we come in, as we remove invasive plants and plant native ones, we are bolstering habitat and giving wildlife and pollinators a fighting chance.Much of our work is done through the help of volunteers, we offer volunteer events in the form of trash clean-ups, invasive plant removal, planting projects, and nursery operation. From working with us, volunteers stand to learn a lot about the plants, insects, and wildlife in our natural setting, whether they're native or nonnative.Restore Native Plant's success in restoring habitat is entirely dependent on the support of the public. Whether it's through volunteering or donating, any type of help is greatly appreciated. You can help support our mission through our website, thank you! https://www.restorenativeplants.org/donate/.
