Education Management - , California, United States
Outdoor learning undeniably improves students' mental health and academic performance. If intentionally facilitated, it can be a tool for educational equity. However, in the Bay Area, access to outdoor learning is inequitable. Our Solution: A fellowship series that provides Title I Bay Area high school teachers with paid training, resources, and one-on-one support in getting students outside. We have two specific fellowships:Fellowship 1: Get OutsideTraining on moving academic classes outdoors.Fellowship 2: Stay OutsideTraining on building student-run afterschool outdoor programs. Revision education is founded by two passionate educators, Anna Santoleri and Regina Kruglyak, who love the outdoors. One of the most fulfilling aspects of their teaching was building a student-run Outdoor Leadership Training (OLT) Program at the Title I charter school where they worked. Anna and Regina saw that the outdoors was underutilized as a solution to educational inequity, which is why they founded and continue to work at Revision Education.
