Nonprofit Organization Management - , British Columbia, Canada
Our partnership began through enrollment into Royal Road University's Masters of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management. Bryanna came to this program with the intent to take these conflict skills internationally, to promote the peacebuilding efforts of women experiencing violent conflict. Greg intended to use this master's to focus on interpersonal mediation. Over the two years, our mutual passion drew us closer to form a meaningful friendship. During this time, Bryanna came to the realization that any systemic conflict starts with the interpersonal, while Greg realized that any interpersonal change ripples through a system. Through these on-going conversations and friendship, we developed an expansive capacity to work on both the individual and systemic level. In January 2019, we attended a protest in Vancouver. We were dismayed to see passionate advocates wasting energy, space, and time on internal conflicts that resulted in a less impactful event and lost the opportunity to share their message broadly. On this day, the seed for Revolution Consulting was planted. Since then, we have incorporated our knowledge of systems design, conflict analysis, mediation, and facilitation with our practical experience leading teams and mentoring staff and volunteers. Revolution Consulting was (selfishly) created to allow us the opportunity to work with passionate people doing real work to make positive social change.
