REXUS BESPIN Details
BESPIN is a student project from Luleå University of Technology for Cycle 11 of the REXUS/BEXUS programme. The aim of the project is to design and test an engineering solution for deploying a two stage parachute and develop an aerodynamic sufficient shape for re-entry in the atmosphere. This project is the first stage of a larger mission with the objective to deploy a balloon from a rocket during atmospheric descent. The launch of the experiment is planned to be during March 2019 from Esrange Space Center in Kiruna.The REXUS/BEXUS programme allows students from universities and higher education colleges across Europe to carry out scientific and technological experiments on research rockets and balloons. Each year, two rockets and two balloons are launched, carrying up to 20 experiments designed and built by student teams.
